throughout college he continued to work along side various
artist. He has been not only well trained in the art field for
design but was also seasoned in high paced work environments
that not only demanded speed but quality alike. Ellis has
painted in shopping malls for nine years. He has also painted
in beach souvenir stores, as well as craft show events. He
opened Hybrid Image Airbrush in 2002. He has customized about
anything you could imagine throughout the years, and is not
afraid to tackle large jobs such as Mardi Gras floats, murals,
he has even airbrushed in custom automotive shops. Rely on him

Biography
James Ellis
was born and raised in the Mississippi Delta. He started his
studies in art at a young age of 8 through a private French
instructor, Madam Watt. Then he continued to study under Ann
Walker throughout upper elementary and junior high school.
Then his passion for vehicles came into play and he was
hooked on mini-trucks and it has never left his blood. He built
a Nissan 720 that sported several old school paint schemes the
first was done by Ellis at the age of 16. Then again at 18
before the truck was sold. After receiving high school diploma
1994. James continued his education at Mississippi Delta
Community College in Moorehead, MS. Here he studied under
instructors that had a very positive influence, Mrs. Jean Abrams
and Mr. Wallace Malette. This is were he also started working
with the airbrush. There his focus of study was in advertising
design with a strong painting emphasis. James graduated with
honors and received his Associates degree as well as the
departmental head transfer scholarship award for painting to
attend Delta State University in Cleveland, MS. James completed
his studies in graphic design with a sculpture minor at DSU in
1998. Then in the summer of 1998 he fulfilled his
internship working in Greenville, MS at Delta Design Group as
and illustration artist. By this time his ability with an
airbrush had really started to turn heads. He walked to receive
his (B.F.A) Bachelor of Fine Arts in May of 1999. During the
time between completing his internship and receiving his
diploma. James began to work with the Greenville Arts Council.
He also received his teachers license. He worked a full time
job during this time in the patient transport industry, where he
was also certified by the N.A.P.D and held and E.M.S. card.
With the G.A.C. James taught workshops to students of all ages
on design and color mixing. Some of the students continued to
study under him at his private studio. James moved to
Hattiesburg, MS and attended a semester at the University of
Southern Mississippi. In Hattiesburg he was also a member of
the South Mississippi Art Association. James then moved to the
gulf coast in May of 2000 and worked as a general manger of a
patient transport company where he had 50 employee's under his
supervision. After two years with the transport company James
desired to do art professionally again. This is when he began
working on the beach in Biloxi, MS. as mentioned before James
has been serving the public since 2002 with his own business
Hybrid Image, Inc. He is the soul artist in this establishment
and you are assured to have your work done by someone that is
highly skilled in the arts. James also continues his passion
with mini-trucks to this day.
